In rochester's summer or in india anytime, anywhere, Water is so precious and needed. Nathalie and myself have been fascinated with the mandala-like architecture of old indian step wells in Rajasthan few weeks ago, Thanks to Sheila Bennett who gave us the location of a "secret "abandoned one in Amber near Jaipur. Dr Brooks, who was lecturing at Open Sky this past weekend, also mentioned that some of the oldest temples like Chidambaram may have been build after or around step wells or preexisting water tanks. Mohenjo daro in the ancient Indus Valley civilization, one of the birth places of yoga, had step wells as well!
Stepwells, also called bawdi (Hindi:
) or baoli (Hindi:
) are wells or ponds in which the water can be reached by descending a set of steps. They may be covered and protected, and are often of architectural significance.

Et voila, i hope you will enjoy the classes at open sky through the summer and I will see you early fall for more inner adventures!
In yoga...
